Wow! Time is flying. I think the two things that stick out to me this month are; we are mobile and Ava is not an infant she is definitely a baby.
The Stats:
Weight: 19lbs 10oz (80th percentile)
Height: 29 ½ inc. (97th percentile)
Ava learned how to crawl over the last month and now you cannot stop her. No more army crawl. Anything she can get her hands on she is after. She has found that things around the house (doors, cords, doorstops) are much more fun then her actual toys. We have to keep an eye on her because everything still goes in the mouth. On one hand I am excited she is crawling because she is so much happier that she gets to move around but on the other hand it is hard to get anything done because when you turn around she is no longer where you left and in fact she is about 20 yards away from where you left her.
Over the last month Ava has developed such a personality. She loves to babble and laugh. She finds herself very funny which is even funnier to me. When she crawls away and you ask her where she is going, she gets a big smile on her face and then keeps going. Once she is out of sight she will peek her head back at you and if you say, “I see you” and she starts to giggle. This can go on for a couple of minutes. It is a very fun game to play. She has this laugh from the back of her throat and you would think she is going to go hoarse from laughing that way. Ava loves to be around people and will babble so much once she gets comfortable with them. When we were on the flight back from California she kept trying to “talk” with the person next to us. At least he was a good sport about it.
Ava has moved on to all finger foods now. I think her favorite is blueberries which of course has to be the messiest. Runner up is Macaroni and cheese which dad is excited about so they can eat it together.
We are all very excited for the summer months so we can get outside! We are looking forward to taking Ava to the pool so she can show off all the skills she has learned in swimming lessons.
